Let’s End Loneliness
Let’s End Loneliness was started in October 2016 to address loneliness in older people. The secretariat for the Let’s End Loneliness committee is provided by COTA (NSW), and it was initiated with support from Anglicare, Australian Association of Gerontologists, Benevolent Society, Sydney Local Health District & Whiddon Group.
With a focus on both loneliness and physical social isolation, the Let’s End Loneliness committee expects to be involved in advocacy for improved social access, as well as supporting services and agencies to be effective in recognizing and addressing loneliness in our elders.
Current activities include reviewing overseas resources, including the UK Campaign to End Loneliness, to see what can be used in Australia.
